The Final Kiss
Looking back, I remain so confused,,,
How is this to be so  real...
Can it be possible my heart was used...
Last time I held you, final kisses did seal...

Our love was so true, or so I felt...
Nothing could change what we held dear...
Then when all of the cards were dealt...
You folded and left without a tear..

So I know now, it was not to be...
I cannot hold what is not mine...
But thank-you for helping me see...
That I could care again after time...

Our seasons passed from sun to snow...
All of them blended in our passion...
To return again so that all could know...
Love was real, and maybe old fashioned...

Sorrow not, I refuse to dwell...
For I am richer this very day...
Memories into the sunset sail...
Of when I loved you in every way...

This shall be the page that says "The End"...
In our book of love for others who we shared...
My heart reaches out, now to mend...
With happy thoughts of when you cared.

(The End)
